The purpose of this study is to evaluate different nitrogen rates, applied to multiple populations, to determine the Economic Optimum Nitrogen Rate (EONR) and Economic Optimum Seeding Rate (EOSR). The goal of this study is to see if nitrogen rates need to increase as populations increase.

2020 Wisconsin Corn Population Study - Nitrogen Rate Response

The data from this study supports the need for additional nitrogen with high-end populations. The interesting thing to note is that 190 lb. of applied nitrogen provided the most consistent return on investment.
