The purpose of this study is to compare multiple rates of foliar-applied sugar applications, made at the R1 growth stage, to determine their impact on yield and profitability.

2018 Ohio Soybean Sugar Rate Study - Foliar

Although prior PFR sugar studies have shown positive results from in-furrow sugar applications, our experience with foliar applications of sugar products at the Ohio PFR site have been mixed at best. This year, we decided to test various sugar rates, and our data indicates that the 4 lb./A. rate provided the best results. This is only one year of data, so continued experimentation is likely warranted.
