The purpose of this study is to utilize Precision Planting’s FurrowJet attachments to apply starter fertilizers through the wings and various fungicide products through the center that are not compatible through a single in-furrow application, in an attempt to increase yield and profitability.

2017 Kentucky Corn Fungicide Placement Study - FurrowJet™

Many fungicides are not compatible with fertilizer applications made in-furrow. The FurrowJet™ system allows more fungicide options for those that want to expand their fertilizer program by applying their fungicide and fertilizer separately. While all of the fungicides tested added yield, return on investment was minimal. This was likely due to the warmer temperatures with this later planting date, which resulted in a crop that simply outgrew any early-season adversities.
