Closing Wheel Study

2021 Kentucky Wheat Closing Wheel Study

  • Kentucky

The purpose of this study is to evaluate the use of different closing wheels and their effects on emergence and yield.

2021 RESULTS

2-YEAR CLOSING WHEEL YIELD AVERAGE

OBSERVATION

Conditions during planting were ideal; thus, huge differences were not observed in this study. This is the second year we've seen modest but positive results, leading us to conclude that when equipping the soybean planter with after-market closing wheels, you can be confident planting your wheat crop with those same wheels.
