PFR PROVEN - LATE-SEASON NUTRITION
When might I need boron in my corn?
LATE-SEASON NUTRITION: PRODUCTS
WHY SHOULD I BE APPLYING BORON TO MY CORN?
Boron (B) has a unique uptake curve with a spike in uptake at flowering. It is mobile in soil water; thus, uptake can be limited in dry spells. Because B is mineralized from organic matter, fields with coarse-textured soils are more likely to respond to foliar applications of B.
OBSERVATION
Boron is needed in small amounts and at very specific times, therefore, foliar applications have a meaningful impact when times correctly.
DID YOU KNOW?
A 200-bushel corn crop requires about 0.6 lb. of boron.
