PFR Proven

2019 PFR PROVEN - IN-FURROW PROTECTION

  • Multi-Location

Heavier or poorly drained soils are more likely to benefit from additional in-furrow protection.

HOW CAN I BEST PROTECT MY SEED?

Cold, wet soils can slow emergence and leave the seed vulnerable to pathogenic soil organisms. Rainfall patterns are changing, resulting in heavier downpours. These heavy rain events saturate soils for longer. Heavier or poorly drained soils are more likely to benefit from additional in-furrow protection. The PFR Proven™ products below offer protection in addition to the comprehensive seed treatment offered by Beck's Escalate®.

OBSERVATION

Results are most consistent during cool, wet seasons with delayed emergence and saturated soil conditions.

IN-FURROW PROTECTION: PRODUCTS

PRODUCT DESCRIPTIONS

ETHOS® XB (INSECTICIDE/FUNGICIDE)

Ethos XB combines the active ingredient of Capture® LFR® insecticide with a broad spectrum biofungicide. Unlike synthetic chemistries, the biofungicide in Ethos XB forms a protective barrier on root surfaces and builds over time to colonize roots and root hairs.

Diseases Controlled: Fusarium, pythium, rhizoctonia, and phytopthera

Insects Controlled: Corn rootworms, wireworms, grubs, seedcorn maggots, cutworms, and common stalk borers

XANTHION® (FUNGICIDE)

Xanthion in-furrow fungicide combines the chemical fungicide in Headline® and an EPA registered biofungicide, offering two modes of action to improve seedling health.

Diseases Controlled: Rhizoctonia root rot, fusarium seed rot and seedling blight, and pythium damping off

CAPTURE® LFR® (INSECTICIDE)

Capture LFR is a liquid at-plant insecticide that puts down a zone of protection and controls pests before seed damage ever takes place.

Insects Controlled: Cutworm, grubs, armyworm, seedcorn maggot, common stalk borer, corn rootworm (at full-use rate), bean leaf beetle (larvae), seedcorn beetle, and wireworm

CAPTURE® VGR® (INSECTICIDE)

Capture VGR delivers full-spectrum insect control, increased water efficiency, and better nutrient availability throughout the season. The VGR soil amendment contains a specific strain of Bacillus licheniformis, a naturally occurring bacteria with properties that result in a larger root system, improved water efficiency, increased phosphorus solubility, and improved plant defense against abiotic stresses.

Insects Controlled: Wireworm, cutworm, grubs, armyworm, seed corn maggot, and common stalk borer

SERENADE® ASO (FUNGICIDE)

Serenade ASO fungicide is applied at planting and builds a protection zone around the seed. As the plant’s roots grow, the beneficial bacteria in Serenade ASO grow with them. It activates the plant’s systemic responses to promote plant growth and stress resistance.

Diseases Controlled: Pythium, rhizoctonia, fusarium, and some strains of phytopthora

IN-FURROW PROTECTION: SEED TREATMENT

SEED TREATMENT

The formulation of Beck's Escalate® yield enhancement system is updated every year, and continues to show remarkable value over 27 independent tests in 10 years.

OBSERVATION

Seed treatments surround the seed in protective chemistry and proactive biologicals that help get the crop off to a good start.

10-YEAR, MULTI-LOCATION ESCALATE ROI (COMPARED TO UNTREATED)

OBSERVATION

Sudden death syndrome (SDS) can harm yields, even at low levels of infection. Twenty-one tests over six years demonstrate the value of using comprehensive seed treatments.

6-YEAR, MULTI-LOCATION ESCALATE SDS ROI (COMPARED TO ESCALATE®)
