Innovation has always been at the heart of farming, and that’s why we developed Beck’s Practical Farm Research (PFR)® program. Since 1964, Beck’s has provided farmers with the most comprehensive, innovative, and practical agronomic research on hundreds of practices, inputs, and equipment.

Many growers are interested in new and unique methods to increase wheat yields, while others may be growing wheat for the first time in many years. Beck's has compiled multi-year, multi-location research and agronomy information that we believe can help farmers achieve higher yields and improve their efficiency.

On August 1, Beck’s officially launched our “Just Believe” campaign with messaging driven from Bible verse Mark 5:36, “Don’t be afraid. Just believe.” We had one single objective with this campaign; to encourage all farmers to “remember, He created you for this.” And while some of our dealers and employees had been privy to a sneak peek, our marketing team eagerly anticipated the video release and the feedback such a bold campaign would garner. We are facing unprecedented times. The highest inflation we've seen in 41 years, skyrocketing interest rates, unpredictable and extreme weather, and rising input costs. We recognize the hardships all Americans are battling today and the challenges the agricultural community continues to face, year after year.

Scott Berget grew up in Wiota, WI, where he farmed on Berget family farms and silver creek family farms, where he was a co-owner. To Scott, family was everything, and he had amazing relationships with his Mom, Judy, his dad Mike, and his siblings, but his favorite people on this earth were his nieces and nephews. Scott cherished the time he spent with them and made sure they each knew how much he loved them.

Happy New Year! It’s hard to believe it’s 2022, and we’re featuring our SEVENTH episode of the Across the Acres podcast. Launched in August of 2021, Across the Acres is hosted by Carlye Frye (Delta Region Training Innovation Manager) and David Ringger (Central Region Training Innovation Manager). Each month, they introduce a member of the Beck family of employees, dealers, and farmers across our marketing territory and provide a platform to share stories about their careers, families, and their faith.
Farming is a family business, one full of opportunities but also of challenges and hardships. Families work together, thrive together, succeed together. And when tough times come, they come for the whole family.

I used the same proverb to introduce my December 2020 CropTalk feature article – If You Give a Man a Fish. In it, I detailed the selfless work of Kenton and Autumn Hofer from Bridgewater, South Dakota, and their tireless efforts with Growing Hope Globally. Growing Hope is an agricultural-based organization dedicated to providing training on sustainable agriculture, nutrition, hygiene and sanitation, access to water, seeds, and land to people in need around the world.
