Known For Something

We are all known for something. Even if we go out of our way to not stand out in a crowd. Some of us desire to be known for something. Maybe it’s our athletic ability, intelligence, job title, role in the family, being the best mom or dad we can be, or a superior businessman or woman. While others seem to be content to sit on the sidelines and to be obscure, even somewhat mysterious. But even if you try not to be known for anything, then you may be known as humble.

Time for a Rest Stop

It’s time for another rest stop. And this time, I’m taking you to one of my favorite places – harvest. On Sunday, September 22, I looked up into the bright blue sky, closed my eyes, and took a deep breath. A sweet smell wrapped up in a cool breeze swept across my face. And just for a minute the world stopped turning.

I’m deeply passionate about our family farm. When I moved home nearly three years ago, it was to start a new job at Beck’s Hybrids. But moving home wasn’t just to start a new job; it was to be with family and to be near the farm.

Why I Farm: Behind the Movement

Tour Stop #4 - Bryon Coffman, Moweaqua, IL

As I looked side to side, my eyes couldn’t reach far enough. Bright orange with a hint of red and purple, it was absolutely breathtaking. The sky was like a hot burner on a stove and the longer it heated the more orange it became. In my 28 years, I’ve never witnessed a sunset like I did on one Friday evening this past July.
