We’ve never seen anything like 2020. Our team has been working to innovate, adapt, and overcome the unique challenges of 2020 while delivering an exceptional field show season. Here is a preview of what you’ll experience at our field shows next month.
We have new things to see whether you’ve never been to a field show or you’ve been a President’s Club member since the Reagan administration. While we are on the topic of President’s Club members, you’ll be excited to know we’re expanding the President’s Club area (including ice cream!) at all of our 2020 field shows.
Innovation is one of the Attitudes and Actions that define the culture here at Beck’s, and exciting new ideas are coming from many departments. The Innovation Station will showcase agronomic learnings from our Practical Farm Research (PFR)® – a deeper dive into the factors that comprise yield and ROI. The Biotech team is excited to demonstrate how we deploy cutting edge genetic testing and embryo rescue technologies to deliver choices in genetics and traits. You’ll also see what’s new in FARMserver®, our state-of-the-art spatial and agricultural data management platform that is free to Beck’s customers.
The Great Harvest Organics brand has been a part of Beck’s for many years, but in 2020 we launched PFR testing of organic products and practices, even performing tests on certified organic acres. If you attend field shows in Atlanta, IN, Colfax, IA, or El Paso, IL, we encourage you to come learn more about the agronomic tools used in organic production. It might be a great year to consider diversifying your operation and pursuing premiums on your farm.
Here in Atlanta, we are pulling out all the stops for a family- and farmer-focused field show. Our expanded family area will feature activities for kids and adults alike. We are excited to introduce our first-ever corn maze.
You’ll still have an opportunity to learn from the Beck’s agronomy team in new and reformatted talks and sessions. Topics include how to Perfect Your Planter Setup, Managing Inputs for Profitability, and Nitrogen Utilization in Modern Hybrids. We will be talking about controlling diseases in The Magic of Fungicides, and how to foster healthy microbial communities in Fungi Are Your Friends.
We are optimistically planning for inperson events, and we are working to make sure that everyone can enjoy field shows safely in the current public health context. Lunches will be a contactless, grab-and-go format, but it will be the same great food you’ve come to know at Beck’s field shows. Outdoor seating for lunch, hand sanitizer stations, and a new look to registration will all be in place to comply with best practices and all local regulations.
We'll look back at 2020 as "unprecedented"; the team here at Beck's is working to be sure that we also think of the word "exceptional" when it comes to Beck's field shows.
We are following each state's rules and regulations regarding their reopening process. Please check BecksHybrids.com/FieldShows for any changes that may be required to comply with public health guidelines.
