Beck’s Day Ever: The Berget Family

Published on Wednesday, February 9, 2022

Scott Berget grew up in Wiota, WI, where he farmed on Berget family farms and silver creek family farms, where he was a co-owner. To Scott, family was everything, and he had amazing relationships with his Mom, Judy, his dad Mike, and his siblings, but his favorite people on this earth were his nieces and nephews. Scott cherished the time he spent with them and made sure they each knew how much he loved them.

In July of 2021, the Berget family of southwest Wisconsin suffered a terrible loss when 38-year-old Scott passed away suddenly in his sleep. He was a beloved son, uncle, brother, and friend.

"It was the worst nightmare ever. But it's not a nightmare" - Judy Berget

The Berget family is one of the most active and well-known families in their community. There's something about them that stands out more so than many other families: their giant hearts, their strong work ethic, and their openness with their faith, even in the darkest of times. Through good times and bad, the Berget family always comes together, and there is truly something special about that.

"When someone you love so hard goes to heaven, you are less afraid for yourself of having it happen to you. You know that there will be family up there greeting you." - Christina Berget

One of Scott's favorite places to visit when he was younger was the Wisconsin Dells - a destination the Berget family visited each year with Scott and his siblings Matt, Christina, and Meghan. In early January, Beck's sent the entire Berget family on a special weekend away to the Dells in hopes they would have a chance to escape the day-to-day, enjoy some quality time together, and celebrate Scott's life and legacy.

Berget family, you inspire us as you continue to answer God's noble calling in the face of hardship and adversity.

"The Lord is near to the brokenhearted and saves the crushed in spirit." Psalm 34:18

We must always remember; our God is great, and He has a reason and plan for everything.
