The Word of God is before us. We have only to read and do what is written there, and revival is assured. It will come as naturally as the harvest comes after the plowing and the planting.” - A. W. Tozer
Many county 4-H fairs have just ended, and state fairs are right around the corner. There is nothing like going to the fair. Animals, projects, contests, games, pork chops, steak sandwiches, toasted cheese, elephant ears, corn on the cob, funnel cakes, ice cream, milkshakes, and well, you get it… lots to see and lots to eat. One of the highlights is watching all the different animals being shown. The test of patience of the kids and parents in getting the animals to do what they are supposed to do even when the animals do not want to cooperate is short of amazing. As you watch an animal just utterly refuse to concede and comply, you think to yourself, if only they would just walk and follow directions, it would all be so much simpler for them and the person showing them.
Our world is just like the rebellious show animals. We all want to go our own way and do our own thing instead of following the best path given to us by God. God has given us His Word. We must read it and walk in obedience to it, period. Stop fighting and start following… the rewards are out of this world.
