Introducing Your New Beck's Eastern Iowa Field Agronomist

Published on Monday, May 09, 2016

My name is Greg Shepherd and I am your new field agronomist in eastern Iowa. I am an Iowa boy, born and raised on a farm in west central Iowa. Nearly 12 years ago, we made our way to southeast Iowa and have put down roots on a family farm near Mt. Pleasant. My wife, Aimee and I have been richly blessed with our wonderful boys; Caleb (6), Silas (4), and Ethan (2).

We also recently welcomed our newest addition, Andrew, who is 2 months old. He has already taken a liking to Beck’s!

I was drawn to Beck’s because it is a company built on Christian faith. I am learning what a big difference being family owned can make as well. Several farmers have asked me how Beck’s is able to buck the trend of contraction and consolidation in agriculture with continued growth. My response is, because we put the farmer first. It is a simple thing to say, yet very difficult to do. I believe this allows Beck’s to do a lot of little things right that add up to a big difference.

I look forward to getting to know you throughout the season. The more you get to know me you will find out I am passionate about three things: faith, family and farming. I wish you and yours the best with planting and spraying operations this spring.

Welcome to Becks. I live an hour west of Mason City.

South of Algona. I am hoping to be a dealer, with my son .
