High-speed planting caught your interest? You’re in the right place!
Beck’s Hybrid’s Practical Farm Research (PFR)® has tested various high-speed planting systems over the past few years. The newest-to-test is John Deere’s ExactEmerge™. Clayton Stufflebeam, PFR Agronomist, discusses the John Deere ExactEmerge™ high-speed row-unit system, Ag Leader SureSpeed™ system, and Precision Planting®’s SpeedTube system. Clayton reviews the meters, seed plates, brushes, singulation, and belt differences of each brand. Learn the importance of hydraulic row-to-row downforce over a spring downforce system in high-speed planting conditions. Clayton also highlights the benefits of row cleaners and closing wheels in high-speed planting conditions.
For this planting speed study, ExactEmerge™ planted corn at 5 MPH, 7.5 MPH, and 10 MPH treatments. Watch to learn more about this new study and how the corn is doing!
