The world speaks and defi nes confi dence in the Merriam-Webster Dictionary fi rst in relationship to us, personally, you, me (surprise… surprise). 1) a feeling or consciousness of one’s powers or of reliance on one’s circumstances. The secondary defi nition given 2) the quality or state of being certain, I believe is the foundational defi nition. If confi dence is based and looked at only regarding me and my powers and my circumstances, it is surely a very shaky confi dence. Eventually, being human, I will fail and then what happens to my confi dence? We are seeing the result of misplaced confi dence in the world all around us today. True confi dence can only be found in the One that is immoveable, unshakeable, “…the same yesterday, today and forever.” (Hebrews 13:8) — Jesus! With my very core confi dence and certainty in Jesus, I can live a life of confi dence beyond the ever-changing circumstances and idea of power as presented by the world.
Know, take it to heart, the Lord, He is God…there is no other!
