What is the ideal placement for nitrogen starter fertilizer?
Join Clayton Stufflebeam, Central Illinois Practical Farm Research (PFR) Location Lead, as he discusses the benefit of placement nitrogen on both sides of the row-unit in 2x2x2 systems.
PFR has tested multiple planter attachments over the years – the Yetter 2968 Series, a 2x2x2 system that mounts between gauge wheels and closing wheels, and the Martin-Till® Dual UMO system – which mounts to the front side of the row-unit and utilizes two coulters. These two systems are PFR Proven. Precision Planting’s Conceal system is currently being tested for the third year; this 2x2x2 plant attachment system rides in a knife that utilizes a two-piece gauge wheel system.
