In this you greatly rejoice, even though now for a little while, if necessary, you have been distressed by various trials, so that the proof of your faith, being more precious than gold which is perishable, even though tested by fire, may be found to result in praise and glory and honor at the revelation of Jesus Christ. (I Peter 1:6-7)

As stated in The Daily Walk Bible, “If you want to get in shape physically, there are some helpful steps you can take: Eat properly, get adequate sleep, and take a multivitamin every day. But in the final analysis, there is no substitute for exercise – working against some sort of resistance. The same is true in the Christian life. Proper nourishment from the Word is essential, but so is “exercise” – in God’s strength, facing and working through trials and difficulties. God, the perfect coach, knows exactly what kind of “workout” you need in order to turn an area of weakness into an area of Christlikeness.” Trials, struggles, hurt, pain, confusion, anger, frustration, emotional, mental, physical, beyond our control, deep valleys, darkness…don’t give up! One day at a time. One minute at a time. Breathe. Rest. Reach out and grab a hand, a shoulder, a listening ear. Be willing to be pulled, pushed, or carried. Even though darkness may loom, the Light is coming, and you, you are not alone! “…and lo, I am with you always,” — Jesus (Matthew 28:20)
