Do you have a New Year’s resolution? Lyndsay Martin, Personal Health Coach at Beck’s shares five tips to help you achieve your goals. 

Five Tips For Making A Resolution You Can Stick To…

  1. Get into the right mindset. A resolution is finding a solution to a problem. Choose a solution that you can stick with in the long term and feel positive about completing.
  2. Set a SMART goal. (Specific, Measureable, Attainable, Realistic, and Timely) Write it down and put it someplace where you’ll see it often.
  3. Find your why. Why is this goal important to you? Write it down beside your SMART goal and revisit it when times get tough or your motivation is lacking.
  4. Recruit support. Having a support system to encourage you on bad days and celebrate with you on good days is important for long-term success. Tell your spouse, family, friends, or coworkers about your goal so they can help keep you accountable. They may even decide to join in with you!
  5. Let go of “all or nothing”. It’s not realistic to think you’re not going to slip up. We’re imperfect humans and life often gets in the way. Allow yourself some leeway for slip-ups and if you fall off the horse, jump right back on. You can do whatever you set your mind to!
