Research and Development Center and Greenhouses
Greenhouses allow us to introduce traits into selected hybrids year around. Therefore, we can advance generations of new genetics faster, which results in higher yields for farmers. Each greenhouse can produce 3.5 crops each year.
Corn Breeding
At Beck's we have worked very hard to build the most elite corn breeding program in the Eastern Corn Belt. We utilize the latest breeding techniques, including the Dihaploid method, for inbred line development. As a result, Beck's can quickly deliver agronomically sound products with more yield and profitability for farmers. Our goal is to develop products that are best suited for growers in our marketing area.
Dihaploid Breeding
This method produces pure parent lines in one generation, compared to 3-5 years using conventional methods. By increasing the speed to develop pure lines, we can develop better yielding hybrids that are ready for farmers, faster!

Beck's conducts over 150,000 hand pollinations annually to breed inbred corn lines that are specifically adapted to our marketing area. This includes corn breeding nurseries in Hawaii, Puerto Rico, Chile and Mexico.
