October 30, 2008

Beck's Hybrids and Indiana AgriNews have begun the search for the 2009 Indiana Farm Family of the Year. The quest continues into the 12th year of this prestigious award, honoring a family for their work on the farm and their contributions in their community. Beck's Hybrids has been a family owned, independent seed company since 1937. "With the presentation of this award, we seek to tell the story of the family as well as the story of agriculture by recognizing one of the state's finest farm families," states Vice President, Scott Beck. Scott explains, "We enjoy having the opportunity to honor and encourage families in Indiana and across our marketing area."

Based on farm practices and community involvement, one family will be selected as the 2009 Indiana Farm Family of the Year. The family will be recognized at the Indiana Farm Bureau state convention in December. Award winners will receive a special plaque and sign that can be displayed on their farm. In addition, the family will receive gift packages from Beck's Hybrids and Indiana AgriNews. When the winning family is announced,
Indiana AgriNews will publish their story, recognizing them as one of Indiana's great farm families.
