Purpose and Scope

This position will help us evolve our existing databases to achieve new functionality, performance, scalability, and reliability objectives. The person in this role should be comfortable implementing an agile database change management process while managing the risks inherent in making database changes. The ability to confidently and directly perform a wide spectrum of database tasks, including but not limited to table design and data migration, replication management, performance tuning, and ETL, is a must. This person will also act as an expert, providing guidance to our development, data integrity, and reporting teams regarding best practices and trouble-shooting.


• Parsing, extracting and transforming data from multiple sources.
• Reviewing and evaluating current user processes and recommend solutions to provide more efficient computer operations.
• Generating technical documentation for applications.
• Performing data audits as needed to ensure data integrity and accuracy.
• Supporting day-to-day reporting needs of end users.
• Troubleshoot reporting and reconcile data discrepancy issues.
• Assist with hardware capacity planning
• Master the fundamental SQL Server Skills ( including installation, backup/restore, security, maintenance, client tools, basic T-SQL, SQL Agent, SQL Jobs)
• Study and develop a working knowledge of intermediate SQL Server skills (replication, data modeling, advanced T-SQL, engine internals, SSIS, PowerShell)

Job Requirements

• B.S. in computer science or related field is preferred.
• Proficient in SQL.
• At least 5 year experience with database systems, preferably Microsoft SQL Server.
• Strong sense of curiosity when it comes to data is a must.
