2017 Ohio Corn Fungicide Study - Carrier Rate

The purpose of this study is to evaluate different fungicide water carrier rates and their impact on yield and profitability.

OBSERVATION

Minimal disease pressure was observed at the Ohio PFR site this summer, so we expected these fungicide applications to have a minimal effect on yield and return on investment. While fungicides help with staygreen, stalk integrity, and overall plant health, higher carrier rates do not necessary contribute to this function. The advantage of a higher carrier rate, in theory, will be most evident in years of high disease pressure.
