Starter Fertilizer Study

2017 Central Illinois Soybean Starter Fertilizer Study

  • Central IL

The purpose of this study is to evaluate various soybean starter fertilizers, applied infurrow, and their effects on yield and profitability.

OBSERVATION

The results of applying starter fertilizers on soybeans have been inconsistent throughout the majority of our testing in PFR. This year, n-crease, a new product from Innova Performance Products, provided the largest yield increase in both varieties tested. This product is not only a macroand micronutrient source, but it also includes plant growth regulators and multiple species of microbes. Additionally, studies conducted over the last two years at the Central Illinois PFR site have revealed that First Pass® with MicroCarb ZMB also shows some potential.
