Starter Fertilizer Study

2017 Indiana Soybean Starter Fertilizer Study

  • Indiana

The purpose of this study is to evaluate various soybean starter fertilizers, applied infurrow, and their effects on yield and profitability.

OBSERVATION

Cool, extremely wet conditions throughout the entire spring created a tough environment for early-season growth. Contrary to what we expected, we observed population differences between the faster emerging BECK 354L4brand when compared to BECK 338L4brand. There is no doubt that genetic and environmental factors contribute to the success of starter fertilizer applications in soybeans.
