Due to the cold and wet spring we have experienced this year, we are extending the registration deadline to May 20, 2016. We understand that every farmer has different needs, preferences, and unique challenges on their farms. As a result of that, we’ve also decided to regionalize the Journey to 300 and Journey to 100 yield challenges this year in an effort to shift the focus more to the journey and less on the competition. Every soil type, productivity level, region and personal journey to higher yields is unique and they should be evaluated that way. Starting in 2016, there will be...

After a year of touring the Midwest in support of the We Care for Orphans Adoption Fund, the 2015 Super-Duty F-250 Platinum pickup truck has a new home.
We're excited to announce the winner of the We Care for Orphans Adoption Fund Sweepstakes, Paul Friend of Crittenden, KY! Paul purchased his ticket at the Farm Science Review in London, OH on September 16, 2014.
“I don’t have the words to express how much this means to me,” Paul said. “It’s just unbelievable.”
The winning ticket was drawn on March 5, 2015. Scott and Shantel Beck presented the truck keys to Paul and his wife, Brenda, on March 19, 2015 at our Beck's headquarters in Atlanta, IN.
Painted a metallic ruby apple red, the Super-Duty F-250 Platinum truck Paul received is fully loaded with a 6.7 liter Power Stroke® V8 Turbo Diesel engine, 6-speed automatic transmission, and platinum cast aluminum 20 in. wheels. It features a full leather interior, heated and cooled seats, power-slide moonroof, and a power-sliding rear window. Also included is a navigation system, snow plow package, and a FX4 off-road package.
“I had planned to purchase a truck like this after I retire in a few years that would pull our travel trailer better,” Paul added. “This gift has filled that need and I can’t say thank you enough. I plan on driving it for years to come.”
With the support of farmers, truck enthusiasts, and the ag community, this year’s We Care for Orphans Sweepstakes raised over $55,000 to help unite orphaned children with loving families. This brings We Care’s grand total to more than $384,000. These funds have gone to help 124 families adopt 161 children from a total of 21 countries.
"In going through the adoption process ourselves, we know the amount of faith and support it takes to make it through the difficult adoption journey,” said Shantel Beck, founder of We Care for Orphans Adoption Fund. “But the reward of being able to give a child a forever family is life-changing. That’s why we are so grateful for support in helping these families make their adoption a reality.”
Thank you to everyone who entered the sweepstakes and has helped support We Care for Orphans Adoption Fund! For more information and updates on the cause, visit www.wecarefororphansfund.org.
