Take A Kid Fishing

Author: Mike Roux

A very special time of the year is almost upon us. It is that great time when planting is done, the kids are out of school, and we can once again take some time for each other. Of all of the outdoor activities I write about, this is one of my favorites. It combines two of my top ten loves in the world; my children and fishing. In the past 18 years, since my wife Nancy and I married and combined our families into one, I have had five of the most enthusiastic young anglers a father could ask for. Now I also have four wonderful grandkids. Not only do they love to fish, they love the outdoors as a whole, and for that I am very grateful.

Start'Em Out Right Hunting

Author: Mike Roux

Today I want to take a look at hunting in its purest form, through the eyes of a child. There are two ways that we can collect data on a child's perception of hunting. The first way is to remember. Take yourself back to the days when even a morning rabbit hunt was as big an adventure as an African Safari. The second way is much more precise. Just ask a kid.

Looking Past The Numbers: Inside The Research Department

Blogging Before Blogging Was Cool

Author: Doug Clouser

When you work at a company for nearly 20 years, you gain lots of stories. From humorous to heartfelt, many of the stories I’ve gained are actually learning experiences. My name is Doug Clouser and I’m the product lead at Beck’s Hybrids. I’ve been a part of the research team since 1996.

I’ll admit this first blog has me a little nervous. I can speak and write for days on product information, product placement, or even technologies. This whole idea of entertaining or educating in a blog format is a bit outside my comfort level.
