While being an intern for Beck’s can mean many things, they all have one thing in common – you are fully integrated into the company and tackling real-world work assignments. This year, there are 23 interns, working in five departments, and spread out amongst six states and five locations. In celebration of #NationalInternDay yesterday, I only saw it fit that I took time to highlight what some of my fellow interns are up to this summer and share their thoughts surrounding their experiences.

My favorite quote is, “we rise by lifting others” by Robert Ingersoll. Lifting others can mean a variety of things, like being a positive, encouraging presence in another person’s life. Or perhaps it’s sharing knowledge with someone or enriching their life in some way. Maybe it’s helping someone become a better version of themselves.
I grew up in a super small town. It’s actually not even considered a town because of its size, it’s really a village. It has one school, with K-12 all in one building, no stoplight and if you blinked while driving down Interstate 75, you would probably miss it. And while I’m used to finding something to do in my small hometown, I’m not so used to change. So when I found out I would be moving to Atlanta, IN, a town of 738 people that’s just over half the size of my hometown, I was little nervous.
Recently, I was able to journey back to Ohio and spend a few days with my teammates on The Ohio State University’s livestock judging team hosting campers at our annual livestock judging camp. To say it was a fun-filled few days would certainly be true, but it was so much more than that.
A few years ago, I can remember aimlessly scrolling through Facebook one day when I happened to notice a post that seemed a little different than others. Here was a post that was sharing a farmer’s story, something I hadn’t really seen before. After diving in a little deeper, I realized the core purpose of this page was to share the story of agriculture.
