2016: What Worked and What Didn't

Published on Wednesday, October 19, 2016

When the 2016 harvest is behind us, it will be critical to review product performance and integral management practices. This is the time to learn what worked well, what didn’t work, and why. Although each season is unique, trends can indicate a strong relationship which demands attention. Unlike 2015, the use of additional nitrogen, late applications, or even stabilized nitrogen may not provide the needed return on investment (ROI). Fungicide applications which did not appear necessary at tassel, could easily provide a good ROI this year from disease favoring weather conditions following pollination.

Results of the on-farm research you may have collected this year will be valuable for planning next year. Look for Beck’s Practical Farm Research (PFR)® book later this year. This resource is delivered to your mailbox, e-mail, and online at www.beckshybrids.com.
