For the past six months, Natalina Sents, an Iowa native, has been living on the road sharing the stories of America’s farmers through blogs and photography on Beck’s Why I Farm Roadtrip. To date, Sents has interviewed more than 70 farmers throughout the Midwest and Northeast, and has even made the trip to Alaska.

Atlanta, Indiana – Beck’s, the largest family-owned, retail seed company in the United States, announced today the purchase of the former BASF Seed Research Facility on the island of Kauai, Hawaii. Built in 2012, the 13,000 square foot facility includes offices, laboratory space, storage and drying for corn breeding nurseries, as well as agricultural equipment needed to grow seed corn and research-focused plant materials.

Atlanta, Indiana – Beck’s announced today a new agreement with Herschel, a manufacturing and distribution company out of Indianola, Iowa. Herschel will take over all sales, service and distribution of Flo-Rite® seed firmers. Flo-Rite offers a new and improved revolutionary seed firmer design by incorporating a durable, high-tech memory polymer, a replaceable wear plate, and a protected fertilizer tube.

Atlanta, Indiana – Beck’s is pleased to announce the purchase of the former Syngenta production facility in Paris, Ill., for the use of corn production and processing. The fully operational site in Edgar County will provide Beck’s with seed processing capabilities, additional warehousing, and expanded bulk storage.
